    Abundant Life Church

Our Story

The story began in 1986, when Pastor Lee Allison felt called by God to plant a church in the northern suburb of Blaine. He was a successful pastor at another church at the time, but knew that God was birthing a dream. Lee and his wife, Sandy, stepped out in faith along with about 39 other people and started meeting in the gymnasium of Johnsville Elementary School, eventually moving to Roosevelt Middle School. In 1990 land was purchased and a building was built on the current property. At the time, it was surrounded by sod fields and forest, and Highway 242 seemed a long way from most of metro civilization.

But God knew what He was doing! The same dreams that God birthed in Pastor Lee continue on today. Blaine has continued to develop as a community, and so has Abundant Life Church. Pastor Steve Finton began as lead pastor in 2003, and felt that God had broadened the call of the church to be a place that teaches and practices healthy relationships with God and each other. Church should be a safe and beneficial place to attend and grow spiritually while making close connections and friendships. We are a church that believes in the Kingdom of God and the continued sharing of the good news of Jesus Christ.

Abundant LIfe Church is a community of believers who are passionate about relationships: with God and others. It’s all about connection. We believe that our actions should honor God, show that people are important, and place the church in position as God’s hope in this world. Abundant Life Church is located in Blaine, Minnesota, which is in the northern metro of the Twin Cities.

OUR VISION:

...inspiring our community to engage in a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ

OUR MISSION:

...to connect with God, each other, and our community through:

     1. Experiencing God: We create environments that raise awareness of God's presence, bringing hope and new life.

     2. Genuine Care: Your family matters, and we are more interested in walking through life together than watching each other from a safe distance.

     3. Community Outreach: We are more interested in giving a cup of cold water to a thirsty person than we are in drinking it ourselves.

     4. Biblical Teaching: We believe God's Word is true and equips the church family to live for Jesus in the real world.
